  • Series 32 Wafer-Style Dio-Seal Isolator Installation

The wafer-style isolator is designed to fit inside the bolts of the mating pipe flanges. Flange gaskets are not used, since the Sensor Ring contains integrally molded face sealing beads. The sealing beads protrudes from the face of the isolator body before installation (as shown in the Dimension Table). Upon installation, the sealing bead is captured between the isolator body and the mating flange bottoming out on the face of the isolator body. This sealing mechanism yields a leak-proof flange seal and ensures that factory calibration will accurately represent field data.

The annular volume between isolator body and Sensor Ring and the instrument's internal volume are filled with a Sensor Fluid, providing the hydraulic link to transfer the process pressure signal to the instrument. The Sensor Fluid must be compatible with the Sensor Ring material and the process fluid.

Working pressure is nominally the flange pressure rating at the flange operating temperature. The isolator can be operated up to the maximum allowable temperature rating of the Sensor Ring material. For verification of maximum allowable temperature ratings, consult Factory.
